LiveSay [Haiti]: Marathon for hungry children

by Valerie M

This will be another short post today but I am compelled to write this. I found this blog of an amazing family from Minnesota who took it upon themselves to move to Haiti under a missionary. This touched me because I am Haitian American and I have been to Haiti personally. I’ve seen the conditions there and it is a very humbling experience. I would be fearful to do what they did: move their family of 8 (three of the kids are adopted) and help others less fortunate than they. I took it upon myself to donate and anyone who is interested in helping out can read the story as told by Tara here and here.

In short, the proceeds are going to World Wide Village to purchase Medika Mamba (meaning “peanut butter medicine“). In this program, malnourished children are fed a diet of energy dense and fortified peanut butter. You can see the story behind this diet from the source.

If you’re still interested in helping Tara raise the last bit of proceeds, again you can donate at LiveSay [Haiti] by clicking the ChipIn button at the upper left hand corner. Thank you so much for your attention and kindness!
